Proposed Commuter Rail Schedule Changes
To go into effect on May 23, 2016
To offer you better, more reliable service, we’ve developed updates to the MBTA Commuter Rail schedules. We’ve applied computer modeling, undertaken field testing, and increased operational efficiencies to make changes that will improve our performance and your experience.
The proposed schedule changes are designed to improve service by:
- Reducing the incidence of delays that affect subsequent departures and multiple lines,
- Representing more accurately the actual travel time along each line, and
- Allowing sufficient time to perform necessary maintenance between trips.
Thank you the feedback on the proposed schedules. We are reviewing the comments and will announce new schedules once we have taken them into consideration.
Note: There are no planned schedule changes for the Kingston/Plymouth, Middleborough/Lakeville, and Greenbush Lines.
