MBTA Adds Service For Stanley Cup Victory Parade

On Saturday, June 18, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to participate in the city of Boston’s celebration of the Boston Bruins’ Stanley Cup championship.  The Bruins victory parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. starting from the TD Garden at North Station to Copley Square.

Extra subway service on Red, Orange, Green, and Blue will be added to the normal Saturday schedule to carry heavier than normal ridership expected to be traveling to North Station for the parade.   Commuter Rail service will operate on its normal Saturday schedule and will be enhanced with additional coaches and capacity. 

PLEASE NOTE:   Old Colony Lines including - KingstonMiddleboro, and Greenbush will operate on a Saturday schedule.

MBTA is working with MBCR to offer some level of supplemental service on Saturday.   The MBTA will be able to provide more information tomorrow.   There will be more MBTA personnel for passenger assistance at key Green Line locations like North and Haymarket Stations.   Extra MBTA Police will patrol the system throughout the day particularly during the parade to assist with crowd control and safety.

SUBWAY

  • For the subway system, the MBTA will operate at near “rush hour” levels all day long, providing more frequent service before, during, and after the parade.
  • Customers are urged to load value on their CharlieCard in advance to avoid long lines after the parade.
  • MBTA employees in orange vests will be deployed throughout the transit system to assist customers who may have questions.
  • Be advised that North Station will be extremely busy.  The MBTA recommends that fans think about using other stations in the downtown area such as Haymarket, Government Center, Park Street and Downtown Crossing. 

COMMUTER RAIL

  • Commuter rail service will operate on its regular Saturday schedule and will be enhanced with additional coaches and capacity.
  • Old Colony Lines  - KingstonMiddleboro, and Greenbush will operate on a Saturday schedule. 
  • Due to the volumes of traffic, customers should expect delays and are encouraged to budget additional time for his/her commute.
  • Extra commuter rail trains will be on standby for deployment to the busiest lines. 
  • Parking at Anderson Regional Transportation Center in Woburn off of Route 93 is FREE with service to North Station. 
  • A special round trip commuter rail ticket will be available for $10.00 and can be purchased at South, North and Back Bay Station.  Additionally, tickets will be sold at Anderson Regional Transportation Center, Route 128, and on board the train.

BUSES

  • Due to the parade route, a number of bus routes including the: 9, 10, 39, 43, 55, 92, 93, and 504 will be detoured as necessary.
  • Green line shuttle replacement service between North Station and Lechmere will be detoured as necessary.
  • Bus customers are urged to go to mbta.com before their trip to get the most up to date bus service information.
