D-Branch of the Green Line Begins Front Door Only Policy April 17th, 2012

Posted on April 9, 2012

Starting on April 17th, 2012, customers at above-ground stations on the Green Line's D-branch will board at the front door only during weekends, holidays, and off-peak hours. Front door only fare collection is already in effect on other branches of the Green Line. During peak hours, which are defined as 6:30 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., customers will be able to board at the side and rear doors with a pre-loaded CharlieCard, CharlieTicket, or valid pass.

This past winter, the MBTA began conducting monthly "fare blitzes" in an effort to enforce the collection of all fares and to remind customers that they should be paying their fare to ride the system. Along with the front door only policy, these fare blitzes will continue to be conducted throughout the Green Line to aid in the MBTA's ongoing effort to enforce the collection of all transit fares.

Fare evasion remains a system-wide priority, and the MBTA reminds all passengers to pay their fare when using the T.

Remember, it's only fair...pay your fare!
