Description: The MBTA will be hosting an Open House on the Ruggles Station Platform Project on October 18, 2012. The public can drop by any time between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM to learn about the project, ask questions or make a comment. Ruggles Station is a key multimodal facility providing service for the Orange Line, Commuter Rail, 14 MBTA bus routes and private shuttle services offered by area institutions. Currently, trains on track 2, one of the three commuter rail tracks, cannot access a platform for passengers to board or exit the train. Thirty percent of commuter trains bypass Ruggles Station on the way to Back Bay Station. Over 500 passengers daily are forced to return to Ruggles from Back Bay Station via the Orange Line. The goal of this project is to develop a design for the construction of a new 800-foot long commuter rail platform to service Track 2. It has the potential to increase passengers to Ruggles Station. With the addition of this new platform, passengers who are riding the MBTA commuter trains traveling on Track 2 will be able to use Ruggles Station.

If you have a disability or need an accommodation to fully participate in the meeting, American Sign Language interpreters, assistive listening devices, handouts in alternate formats, etc., will be provided upon request. Please contact Kerri Chace, Regina Villa Associates, at (617) 357-5772 or at at least one week before the meeting.

Transit Nearby: Orange Line (Ruggles Station), Green Line – E branch (Museum of Fine Arts), Commuter Rail (Ruggles Station), Bus Routes 8, 15, 19, 22, 23, 28, 29, 39, 42, 43, 44, 45, 47, CT2 and CT3
