Oak Grove Platform Rehabilitation Project
The Oak Grove Platform Rehabilitation Project is in place to perform structural improvements to the Oak Grove Station platforms as well as Oak Grove's pedestrian bridge. This Project also involves upgrading the track area, signals, power, ADA access, and the site itself.
Phases 1 and 2:
The Contractor completed construction operations on the Oak Grove Station Platform, which included reconstruction the platform edge and removing the top of the platform concrete using hydro-demolition. A new concrete topping slab was constructed. Single-track operation was used to perform both phases of this work.
From March 2, 2014, through June 30, 2014 (a period of twelve weeks), construction of a second egress structure at the north end of the Oak Grove platform will be constructed. To perform this work, the southbound track has been taken out of service while the station operates under a single-track operation. The northbound track will be in service in a similar way to Phases 1 and 2 of the Project. During Phase 3, the platform will be fully open and construction will be focused in the storage track area within approximately 150 north of the platform.
