Alternative Travel Options During Blue Line and Commuter Rail Closures

There will be overlapping Blue Line and Commuter Rail closures in April. Transit Ambassadors and other MBTA personnel will be available to assist riders. We recommend planning for extra travel time.
During these closures, we'll address 16 speed restrictions in the corridor as part of the Track Improvement Plan. We'll perform additional work at each of the impacted stations, including lighting repairs, painting and deep cleaning.
April 9–11: No Blue Line service between Bowdoin and Orient Heights after 8 PM
- Shuttles available between Orient Heights and Government Center. No shuttle stop at Bowdoin.
- State and Aquarium shuttle stops are toward Government Center only.
- For service to Maverick at Aquarium or State, take a shuttle to Government Center and transfer to another shuttle for outbound service. The following stop is Maverick.
- Accessible vans are available upon request
Blue Line Shuttle Stops April 9-11
April 17–21: Shuttles replace Blue Line service between Maverick and Wonderland
- Accessible vans are available at Suffolk Downs to transport riders between the inbound and outbound sides of the station.
Blue Line Shuttle Stops April 17-21
April 22–30: Shuttles replace Blue Line service between Airport and Wonderland
- Shuttles replace train service
- Accessible van is available at Suffolk Downs to transport people between the inbound and outbound sides of the station
Blue Line Shuttle Stops April 22-30
April 20–28: Shuttles replace Newburyport/Rockport service between Swampscott and North Station
- No shuttle service at River Works or Chelsea
Newburyport/Rockport Shuttle Stops
April 20–28: Shuttles replace Haverhill service between Reading and Oak Grove
- Trains will make all stops between Haverhill & Ballardvale and stop at Anderson/Woburn on the Lowell Line.
- No shuttle service at North Wilmington
