Scope of Work
Work consists of the construction of a new above-grade transit station on the MBTA Orange Line between Sullivan Square and Wellington Station. This project is a Public/Private Partnership between Federal Transit Administration, Federal Realty Investment Trust and Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Assembly Square Station involves relocating and reconstructing 5,000 feet of track and third rail; construction of two entrance structures, pedestrian walkways and headhouses; platform construction is 410 feet fully covered with canopy. Major systems and utilities will be installed at the station including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, communications, water, sewer and gas. Wayside systems will include new signals, new fiber optic and new traction power.
