Getting to Boston Logan International Airport is easy no matter where you are on the T's system.

MBTA Blue Line Subway services are available to and from Downtown Boston with FREE Silver Line Bus Rapid Transit service from all Logan Airport terminals to South Station. The Providence Line Commuter Rail at South Station also offers weekday service to and from TF Green Airport. The MBTA is the most economical and environmentally friendly way to get to and from Logan.

Silver Line SL1 To and From Logan Airport

With the Silver Line Route SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) bus rapid transit service as your best direct connection to and from the Red Line at South Station, this is your best option for transportation to:

  • Cambridge
  • Downtown Boston
  • Harvard University
  • MIT
  • Massachusetts General Hospital

The service offered by Silver Line SL1 is the most convenient option and your best connection to and from the Airport with drop-off and pick-up directly in front of each Logan Terminal. There are no shuttle transfers and plenty of room to store your luggage.
 
For service to Logan Airport using the Silver Line SL1, take the MBTA Red Line or Commuter Rail to South Station and transfer to the Silver Line Route SL1. The Silver Line SL1 will drop you off in front of your Logan terminal.

For service from Logan Airport using the Silver Line SL1, take the FREE Silver Line Route SL1 from your terminal to the Red Line at South Station.  Please use all doors to board at any Silver Line stop location.

The Silver Line SL1 is handicapped-accessible and runs from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. every day of the week.

Subway Blue Line

Blue Line To and From Logan Airport

The Blue Line Subway is your best connection to and from the Green Line at Government Center Station and the Orange Line at State Street Station. This route is the best option for transportation to:

  • Brookline
  • Newton
  • Northeastern University
  • Boston University
  • Boston College
  • The Longwood Medical Area
  • Back Bay
  • Fenway Park
  • Downtown Boston

For service to Logan Airport using the Blue Line, take the MBTA Blue Line to Airport Station and board FREE Massport shuttle buses to all airline terminals.

For service from Logan Airport using the Blue Line, board FREE Massport shuttle buses (Route Nos. 22, 33, or 55 to "MBTA Blue Line") outside your terminal. The Massport shuttle buses, which have extra storage space for luggage, will drop you off directly in front of Airport Station where you can purchase your CharlieTicket at the ticket machines inside the station's lobby. Insert your CharlieTicket in the fare gate to access the station platform.

The Blue Line runs from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. every day of the week.

Ferry

MBTA Commuter Boat To and From Logan Airport

Take MBTA ferries to Logan Airport from the commuter boat terminal located at Hewitts Cove, in Hingham, or from Pemberton Point in Hull. Upon arrival at the Logan dock, take the FREE Massport Route 66 Shuttle Bus, which services all airport terminals. Commuter Boat service from Hewitts Cove operates seven days a week. Hull services operate weekdays only. Overnight parking at Hingham is affordable and discounted weekly rates are also available. Commuter Rail - TF Green Airport To and From Logan Airport

The Providence Line Commuter Rail includes weekday stops from TF Green Airport to South Station, making it the best option for all TF Green Airport connections to and from Logan Airport via the Silver Line at South Station. Airport garage parking is available at TF Green Airport with 650 parking spaces available at the TF Green Airport Commuter Rail Station.

For Service to Logan Airport from TF Green Airport, take the Providence Line Commuter Rail to South Station and transfer to the Silver Line Route SL1 for direct service to your Logan terminal.

For service from Logan Airport to TF Green, take the FREE Silver Line Route SL1 from your terminal to connect to the Providence Line at South Station.

Check the Providence Line service schedule and the MBTA's convenient Trip Planner for all weekday train number and travel time information. Customers should please note that the Providence line does not service TF Green Airport on Saturdays and Sundays.

  To Logan From Logan
North Take the Orange Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station. Then take the free Massport shuttle bus to all terminals. Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Take the Blue Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Orange Line. Customers can also take the Blue Line to Government Center, transfer to westbound Green Line service, and get off at North Station to access the northern Commuter Rail system routes.
Northeast Take the Blue Line to Airport Station and transfer to the free Massport shuttle bus to all terminals. Other options include Bus Route Nos. 448 and 449 from Marblehead or Bus Route No. 459 from Salem, all of which serve Logan Airport Terminal C. Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Other options include connections to Bus Route Nos. 448 and 449 to Marblehead and Bus Route No. 459 to Salem from Logan Airport Terminal C.
Northwest  Take the Red Line to South Station and transfer to the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront), which serves all airport terminals. Take the free Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) to South Station and transfer to the Red Line.
West  Take the Green Line to Government Center and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station. Then take the free Massport shuttle bus to any terminal. Other options include taking the Commuter Rail to South Station and transferring to the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront), which serves all airport terminals. Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Take the Blue Line to Government Center and transfer to the Green Line. Other options include taking the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) to South Station for connections to the Commuter Rail.
South Take the Orange Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station. Then take the free Massport shuttle bus to any terminal. Other options include taking the Commuter Rail, Red Line, or Silver Line SL4 (Dudley Station South Station at Essex Street) to South Station and transferring to the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront), which serves all airport terminals. Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Take the Blue Line to State Street Station and transfer to Orange Line service. Other options include taking the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) to South Station and transferring for Commuter Rail, Red Line, and Silver Line SL4 (Dudley Station South Station at Essex Street) service. For early morning service, take Bus Route No. 171 from the terminals to Dudley Station or Andrew Station.
Southeast  Take the Commuter Rail or the Red Line to South Station and transfer to the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront), which serves all airport terminals. Other options include taking the MBTA Harbor Express ferries from the commuter boat terminal located at Hewitts Cove in Hingham or from Pemberton Point in Hull to Logan Airport. You can buy a one-way CharlieTicket for $2.65, a one-day LinkPass for $12, and a 7-day LinkPass for $19 using cash or credit/debit cards at machines located inside or outside all airport terminals as well as inside the Airport Station lobby for customers desiring Blue Line service. Customers should note that service on the Silver Line SL1 to South Station for Red Line connections is FREE. One-day and 7-day LinkPasses allow you unlimited travel on all Subway Lines, Local Buses, Commuter Rail Zone 1A Lines, and Inner-Harbor Ferries for the number of days printed on your pass.
