Changes to Bus Route CT1

Effective September 1, 2019

How This Route is Changing

Route CT1 will be eliminated. Almost all current CT1 stops are served by the Route 1 bus, and we’re adding service to the route so buses will arrive more frequently.

There are a few CT1 stops where the 1 does not stop, including those in the Boston Medical Center and on Green St. You may need to walk to a nearby Route 1 stop for service.

What You Can Expect

If you take Route CT1...

  • To or from a stop on Mass Ave, board Route 1 at your current stop for service between Harvard Square and Nubian Square
  • From Green St @ Magazine St, board Route 1 on Mass Ave @ Prospect St for service to Harvard, or on Mass Ave @ Pearl St for service to Nubian
  • From the Boston Medical Center, board the 1 on Mass Ave
    • If you board at Albany St opp Boston Medical Center, consider Mass Ave @ Albany St
    • If you board at 88 E Newton St or 91 E Concord St, consider Mass Ave @ Harrison Ave
    • Or, take the 8 or 10 to Mass Ave and then transfer to the 1

Why We’re Making This Change

By consolidating CT1 and 1 service, we're able to provide more frequent, reliable service between Boston and Cambridge on Mass Ave.
