Framingham/Worcester Line Service Changes

By December 2020, almost every passenger rail system across the country (including ours) will have an added layer of safety—Positive Train Control (PTC). We're upgrading the signal system along the Framingham/Worcester Line this summer.

Shuttle schedules are subject to change, dependent on weather, city-wide events, and construction progress.


Shuttle Service During Coronavirus

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all riders should wear face coverings and leave extra space between themselves and other riders. Shuttle capacity is limited to 20 people.

Shuttles Replace Trains

Free bus shuttles replace Commuter Rail trains across different portions of the line:

Shuttles are accessible to people with disabilities. Some bus shuttles may be provided by third-party contractors and will look different than MBTA buses. Some may provide accessibility via a lift in the back rather than a ramp in front.

Service Changes to Trains

no service The following trains are cancelled until further notice:

  • Outbound from Boston: Trains 501 (4:40 AM from South Station), 7521 (4:50 PM), and 7525 (6:10 PM)
  • Inbound to Boston: Trains 7504 (5:50 AM from Worcester) and 7508 (6:57)

Train 7507 to Worcester will depart Ashland at 8:10 AM (9 minutes after its regularly scheduled time) until further notice.
