Kingston/Plymouth Line Service Changes

Shuttle schedules are subject to change, dependent on weather, city-wide events, and construction progress.


Shuttle Service During Coronavirus

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all riders are required to wear face coverings and should leave extra space between themselves and other riders. Shuttle capacity is limited to 20 people.

South Station – Braintree

Shuttle diagram of the Red Line and 3 Commuter Rail Lines (Greenbush, Kingston/Plymouth, and Middleborough). Shuttles run between Quincy Center and Braintree. The 3 Commuter Rail Lines which normally run to South Station will instead terminate at Bratinree, where riders can transfer to the shuttle and then to the Red Line.

Weekend of October 17 – 18, 2020

Commuter Rail trains will not run between South Station and Braintree all day Saturday and Sunday.

At Braintree, riders can transfer to/from the Red Line shuttles.

Please allow additional time while traveling from South Station to Braintree.

This service change supports MassDOT bridge replacement work near Quincy Center.

accessible Shuttle Accessibility

Shuttles are accessible to people with disabilities. Some bus shuttles may be provided by third-party contractors and will look different than MBTA buses. Some may provide accessibility via a lift in the back rather than a ramp in front.


no service No Service at Plymouth

October 31 – November 2, 2020

Trains will not serve Plymouth Station. All trains will start and end at Kingston Station.

Riders can use GATRA’s Libery Link or Freedom Link for bus service between Kingston and Plymouth.

This service change allows crews to complete necessary utility and track work in coordination with the Town of Kingston.
