Newburyport/Rockport Line Service Changes

The Gloucester Drawbridge, which carries the Rockport Line over the Annisquam River, will be replaced between 2018 and 2022.

Shuttle schedules are subject to change, dependent on weather, city-wide events, and construction progress.


Shuttle Service During Coronavirus

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all riders are required to wear face coverings and should leave extra space between themselves and other riders. Shuttle capacity is limited to 20 people.

Rockport – West Gloucester

Every Day Through Summer 2021

Shuttles run all day, every day between Rockport and West Gloucester—except for some Friday and Saturday nights.

Shuttles operate on the normal train schedule but may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Please note that shuttles cannot accommodate bicycles.

Newburyport/Rockport – Salem

Shuttles run between Salem and Newburyport/Rockport.

On Friday and Saturday nights, shuttles replace trains between Newburyport/Rockport and Salem.

Please note that shuttles cannot accommodate bicycles.

      Shuttles are accessible to people with disabilities. Some bus shuttles may be provided by third-party contractors and will look different than MBTA buses. Some may provide accessibility via a lift in the back rather than a ramp in front.
