Newburyport/Rockport Line Service Changes

The Gloucester Drawbridge, which carries the Rockport Line over the Annisquam River, will be replaced between 2018 and 2022.

Shuttle schedules are subject to change, dependent on weather, city-wide events, and construction progress.


Shuttle Service During Coronavirus

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all riders are required to wear face coverings and should leave extra space between themselves and other riders. Shuttle capacity is limited to 20 people.

Rockport – West Gloucester

Every Day Through Summer 2021

Shuttles run all day, every day between Rockport and West Gloucester.

Shuttles operate on the normal train schedule but may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Please note that shuttles cannot accommodate bicycles.

Rockport – Beverly Depot

Weekdays, Starting September 28, 2020

For about five weeks, shuttles replace the following trains between Rockport and Beverly Depot:

  • Train 107 (10:35 AM from North Station)
  • Train 114 (12:43 PM from West Gloucester)

This service change supports tie replacement work.


West Gloucester – Beverly Depot

Starting September 28, 2020

To allow crews to work on tie replacement, the following trains will experience delays of up to 25 minutes for about five weeks:

Weekdays

  • Train 110 (9:33 AM from West Gloucester)
  • Train 105 (8:35 AM from North Station)
  • Train 109 (12 PM from North Station)
  • Train 111 (1:50 PM from North Station)

Weekends

  • Trains 1101 and 2101 (8:30 AM from North Station)
  • Trains 1103 and 2103 (10:20 AM from North Station)
  • Trains 1105 and 2105 (12:20 PM from North Station)
  • Trains 1107 and 2107 (2:20 PM from North Station)

accessible Shuttle Accessibility

Shuttles are accessible to people with disabilities. Some bus shuttles may be provided by third-party contractors and will look different than MBTA buses. Some may provide accessibility via a lift in the back rather than a ramp in front.
