Work Begins on Columbus Avenue

In partnership with the City of Boston, the MBTA is building a center bus lane on Columbus Ave that will benefit bus riders, pedestrians, and the neighborhood as a whole.

Building a Better T

As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.

Two Week Outlook

Between October 23 – November 6, crews will be installing two new station platforms at:

Crews will work Mondays – Saturdays, 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

For safety reasons, there may be occasional lane reductions, parking space removals, and minor detours for pedestrians around work zones.

Completed Work

Over the last 2 weeks, crews have completed:

  • Demolition of the roadway median
  • Began installation of underground utilities
  • Preparation for platform construction
