Starting Friday, July 23, we will be removing the existing Bacon Street bridge and moving a new superstructure into place. From 8 AM on Friday, July 23 through 5 AM on Monday, July 26, crews will be working in Wellesley to improve the safety, resiliency, and reliability of the Framingham/Worcester Line.

What to Expect During this Work

Crews will begin at 8 AM on Friday, July 23 and continue through 5 AM on Monday, July 26.

Neighborhood Impacts

To allow for this work, Route 135 and the intersection of Bacon Street at Route 135 will be detoured through the weekend. Before any major construction begins, we will install signs indicating the detour route. Drivers should avoid the area or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

The Bacon Street closure will begin at 8 AM on Friday, July 23. The East Central Street (Route 135) closure will begin at 9 PM on Friday, July 23.

If we expect that any of this work will have significant noise or traffic impacts in the neighborhood, we will send updates via email.
