Winter 2022 Service Changes

This winter, we’re continuing to improve service across the system to support our riders across the region. 

This winter, we are implementing service changes to: 

Our Plan to Bring Back Service

Due to an infusion of federal funding, as of April 2021, the MBTA is able to begin bringing service back to 100% pre-pandemic levels.

Masks on the T

Riders and employees are required by federal law to wear masks on all MBTA property, including vehicles, stops, and stations.

Service Changes by Mode

subway Subway Service Changes

Effective December 19, 2021

The Mattapan Line will see weekend frequency increases after 11:30 PM, and weekday decreases in the morning and afternoon. 

There will be no service changes to other subway lines.
