Fitchburg Line Service Changes

To support the Green Line Extension, we're building a new viaduct over the Commuter Rail tracks between Lechmere and the new branches to Medford and Somerville.

Weekends Through June 7, 2020

There will be no Fitchburg Line service between Porter and North Station during these weekends:

  • May 30 – 31
  • June 6 – 7

Inbound trains (toward Boston) will terminate at Porter. For service to Boston, transfer to the Red Line.

Outbound trains (toward Fitchburg) will depart from Porter as scheduled. For service to Porter from Boston, take the Red Line from Park St, or take the Orange or Green Line from North Station for free, and transfer to the Red Line for free.

Subway trips between Porter and North Station take about 30 minutes.
