Greenbush Line Service Changes

Crews will be performing maintenance work along the Greenbush Line.

Note: Shuttle schedules are subject to change, dependent on weather, city-wide events, and construction progress.


Shuttles Between South Station and Greenbush

On the Greenbush line, shuttles run between South Station and Greenbush, with no service at Quincy Center. Braintree and JFK/UMass are drop-off only on inbound trips.

Starting May 18, 2020

Shuttles will run 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM on weekdays and all day on weekends.

Shuttles will replace the following trains:

  • Boston-bound trains 1072 (9:30 AM from Greenbush), 1074 (11:08 AM), 1076 (12:20 PM), and 1078 (2:10 PM)
  • Greenbush-bound trains 1073 (9:45 AM from Boston), 1075 (11:03 AM), 1077 (12:55 PM), and 1079 (2:45 PM)

Note: Regular train service will run on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Trains will run on a Sunday schedule.

no service Shuttles will not stop at Quincy Center. Instead, they will stop at Braintree at the normally advertised Quincy Center times.

For inbound trips: Braintree and JFK/UMass are drop-off only. If no riders need to get off the shuttle at either station, the shuttle may run express to South Station.

Shuttles are expected to run for approximately 4 weeks.

Shuttles are accessible to people with disabilities. Some bus shuttles may be provided by third-party contractors and will look different than MBTA buses. Some may provide accessibility via a lift in the back rather than a ramp in front.
