Regular Weekday Newburyport/Rockport Train Service to Resume August 14

BOSTON – As the work to replace the Beverly Drawbridge is about to finish on schedule, weekday train service will resume on Monday, August 14. While regular Commuter Rail train times will be back in effect on August 14, Zone 3 monthly passes will continue to be accepted to and from all stations north of Salem Station through the end of August. Beginning September 1, Newburyport/Rockport Commuter Rail customers should resume purchasing the appropriate Zone 4-8 monthly passes where applicable.
The replacement of the Beverly Drawbridge will allow for more reliable service on the Newburyport/Rockport Line. When complete, the new swing-span bridge will be supported by the existing pivot pier. A new Electrical Room and Generator are also being constructed with the Control House being remodeled.
