Extra Transit Service Saturday, March 24 for the Boston March for Our Lives

Posted on March 23, 2018

To accommodate those attending the Boston March for Our Lives on Saturday, March 24, the MBTA will provide extra service on the Red, Orange, Green, and Blue Lines.

Customers should expect a heavy volume of passengers at stations in the downtown area and on the Orange Line at Roxbury Crossing, Ruggles, Massachusetts Avenue, and Back Bay Stations.

Customers are also advised that, due to customer safety, it may be necessary to temporarily close Park Street and/or Boylston Street Stations during the rally on Boston Common.

Extra MBTA staff will be deployed to key stations in and around the event to provide customer assistance, and Transit Police will be on patrol throughout the system.

Bus routes that operate along the March for Our Lives route will be detoured beginning at approximately 11 a.m. on March 24 until the route is clear. Bus routes that cross Tremont Street may also experience a significant delay during the March for Our Lives. For more information on these detours and delays as they occur, please check T-Alerts.

Additional passenger capacity on most Commuter Rail trains will also be provided on March 24.
