B Branch Track Upgrades June 20 – July 1

As part of the Green Line Transformation, there will be a 12-day full access closure on the B Branch from Monday, June 20 to Friday, July 1.

Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
Why We're Doing This Work
During this closure, we'll replace track and install Green Line Train Protection System (GLTPS) equipment.
Crews will complete the following work:
- Replacing over 3,000 feet of track
- Replacing four units of special trackwork
- Upgrading one intersection
- Upgrading one pedestrian crossing
This closure is one of four that will take place across the Green Line this year. With 12 days of full access, we will complete upgrades that would usually take six months of weekend closures.
Construction Locations
Most of the construction will take place at Linden Street in Allston, the Washington Street Crossover in Brighton, and the Cardinal Crossover located near Boston College.
Service Changes
Accessible shuttle buses will replace train service from Kenmore to Boston College. Shuttles will not stop at Warren St, Allston St, or Packards Corner stations due to inaccessible sidewalk conditions.
