New Funding Accelerates Green Line Train Protection System Project Timeline

In January 2022, the Audit and Finance Subcommittee approved reallocating funds that will allow us to complete the Green Line Train Protection System Project in 2023, one year earlier than originally planned.
We're currently finalizing initial design for Type 7 Green Line vehicles and wayside equipment. Once the design is validated, the vehicle and wayside installation phases will be accelerated.

As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
