Demolition Work Complete at Winchester Station

Updated on June 11, 2021

Completed demolition at the north end outbound platform at Winchester Station, as seen from the platform (June 2021).

On January 7, 2021, the MBTA closed Winchester Station as a result of an inspection that indicated significant infrastructure deterioration to pedestrian ramps and canopies. Crews recently completed demolition of all the overhead ramps and platforms in the north and south areas of the station in order to safely secure it.

The station will remain closed until further notice.
