Park Street Station Improvements

More than 20,000 people take the T to or from Park Street every day. As one of the oldest subway stations in the country, Park Street has been updated many times over the last century, and this year, we’re installing all-new lighting and station signs, making much-needed repairs to the floor and stairs, and replacing the subway tracks that run through the station.
These upgrades will make it easier for all customers to navigate the station—especially those with disabilities or people who are new to the MBTA.
Work at Park Street is already underway, and includes:
- Replacement of both north and southbound Red Line tracks in the station
- All-new wayfinding signs throughout the station
- Removal of all redundant or outdated signs
- Stair and tile repairs
- All-new, standardized LED light fixtures for lower maintenance costs and easier upkeep
- A full station cleaning and repainting
Park Street is just one of several stations undergoing major wayfinding and station brightening work.
