Summary

Four B Line stops along Commonwealth Ave will be consolidated into 2 stops, with construction planned to begin in winter 2019/2020. The project is being done in coordination with MassDOT’s Commonwealth Avenue Phase 2A project and the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement project.

Project Features

  • The consolidation of St. Paul St and BU West stations
  • The consolidation of Babcock St and Pleasant St stations
  • Updated fare collection machines
  • Longer, 225-foot platforms for 3-car train sets
  • Accessible level boarding at both stations
  • Security and reliability upgrades to trains and stations
