Service Alerts For Red Line Close
  • Shuttle
    Shuttle buses will replace Red Line service between Alewife and Harvard on weekends from November 10 to December 2 due to track work.
    Buses replace train service between Alewife and Harvard in both directions on weekends from the start to the end of service. The diversion will allow maintenance crews to perform necessary rail, tie, and overall track work.

    Shuttling will occur on the following weekends:
    November 17-18
    November 24-25
    December 1-2
    All shuttle bus stops are accessible to persons with disabilities. Please allow additional time for your commute. Regular train service will resume at the start of service on the following Mondays.

    Porter
    Harvard

  • Shuttle (Upcoming)
    Shuttle buses replace Red Line service between North Quincy and Braintree stations on Mondays - Thursdays from about 9:00 PM until the end of service through December 6.
    These evening shuttles are scheduled to occur every Monday through Thursday nights from November 19 through December 6. This is to allow for work at both Wollaston and Quincy Center stations.
    The work scheduled for Thursday night, November 15, has been cancelled and regular train service will run.
    Regular train service will run on November 19-22 for the Thanksgiving holiday week.
    All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities. Regularly scheduled service will resume at the start of service the following day.

  • Shuttle (Upcoming)
    Shuttle buses replace Red Line service between North Quincy and Braintree stations on Sundays - Thursdays from about 9:00 PM until the end of service from December 9 to January 17.
    These evening shuttles are scheduled to occur every Sunday through Thursday nights from December 9 to January 17. This is to allow for work at both Wollaston and Quincy Center stations.
    Regular train service will run December 23-27 and December 30 - January 3 for the holidays.
    All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities. Regularly scheduled service will resume at the start of service the following day.

  • Station Issue (Ongoing)
    The pedestrian walkway near Kendall/MIT Station (inbound) is closed until further notice due to MIT construction.
    Access to the Kendall/MIT Station will remain open and accessible on the Main Street side of the station throughout this construction.
    The pedestrian plaza between Carleton Street and Main Street in Kendall Square will be closed due to the construction of an underground garage.
    Customers are encouraged to utilize alternative paths to/from the station using the paths on Ames Street, Dock Street, or Wadsworth Street.

  • Station Issue (Ongoing)
    The pedestrian bridge at the Braintree Parking Garage will be closed through Summer 2020 due to construction.
    For access to Braintree Station during this closure, travel down to the first floor and use the pedestrian crosswalk to enter the station at the street level.
    This closure is due to the South Shore Parking Garages Improvements and Renovations Project. The pedestrian bridge will be replaced by a new garage lobby featuring elevators and stairwells.

    After crossing Causeway St, pedestrians will use a protected walkway along the east side of Legends Way, directly abutting Portal Park. The walkway will include a barrier and kick-plate for blind and low vision passengers.
    As an alternative, customers may consider utilizing the west exit from North Station Commuter Rail due to congestion.

Service Alerts For Green Line D Close
  • Shuttle (Ongoing)
    Shuttle buses will replace Green Line D Branch service between Kenmore and Reservoir on weekends through December 16 due to track and signal work.
    Buses will replace train service between Kenmore and Reservoir from the start until the end of service on weekends through December 16.     Shuttle buses will run on the following weekends:

    Green Line D branch notice: We are experiencing an issue with GPS tracking on D branch trains in the Newton area.
    We are working with our vendor to solve GPS tracking on D branch trains in the Newton area. We have deactivated countdown clocks at some D branch stations so that we are not providing incorrect predictions.
