    Buses replace Red Line service between Park Street and Kendall/MIT Stations on weekends through Sunday, December 17, due to the Longfellow Bridge Project.

    The bridge is scheduled to be open and Red Line train service will operate for the Head of the Charles weekend (October 21-22) and Thanksgiving weekend (November 25 - 26)
    Red Line train service will resume at the start of service on the following Monday. All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities.
    Customers should expect delays in service due to speed restrictions for a minimum of 48 hours after the weekend track work.

    Shuttling the following stops:
    Kendall/MIT (pick-up/drop-off at Marriott Hotel)
    Charles/MGH (inbound shuttle buses at Cambridge St @ Grove St, outbound at Cambridge St @ Charles St near the Liberty Hotel)
    Park Street (pick-up/drop-off on Tremont St @ Temple Place)

    The Columbia Road entrance/exit at JFK/Umass Station will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, September 18, through Wednesday, November 1, due to construction.

    The Columbia Road entrance/exit at JFK/Umass Station will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, September 18, through Wednesday, November 1, due to structural repairs of the walkway between Columbia Rd and JFK/UMASS Station. During the closure, customers should plan on adding 5-10 minutes to their commute due to a longer path of travel to and from the station.
    Customers can enter the station via the adjacent stairway on Columbia Road down to the busway or the station entrance in the busway via Old Colony Ave.
    To exit the station, use the Ashmont platform exit to Columbia Rd or the busway. Customers can exit the Braintree platform by crossing over to the Braintree platform via stairs or elevator.

    Beginning Monday, June 12, the pedestrian walkway near Kendall/MIT Station (inbound) will be closed due to MIT construction.

    Access to the Kendall/MIT Station will remain open and accessible on the Main Street side of the station throughout this construction.
    The pedestrian plaza between Carleton Street and Main Street in Kendall Square will be closed due to the construction of an underground garage.
    Customers are encouraged to utilize alternative paths to/from the station using the paths on Ames Street, Dock Street, or Wadsworth Street.

  • Station Issue (Ongoing)
    The pedestrian bridge at the Braintree Parking Garage will be closed through Summer 2020 due to construction.

    For access to Braintree Station during this closure, travel down to the first floor and use the pedestrian crosswalk to enter the station at the street level.
    This closure is due to the South Shore Parking Garages Improvements and Renovations Project. The pedestrian bridge will be replaced by a new garage lobby featuring elevators and stairwells.

    Due to the MassDOT Woods Memorial Bridge Project, buses will replace Orange Line service in both directions between Wellington and Oak Grove Stations from start to end of service on Saturday, October 21, 2017 and Sunday, October 22 2017.
    Regular Orange Line train service will resume at the start of service on Monday, October 23, 2017.

    Due to necessary maintenance work, shuttle buses will replace Orange Line service between Ruggles and Tufts Medical Center Stations in both directions from the start of service on Saturday, October 28, through the end of service on Sunday, October 29.
    Regularly scheduled service will resume at the start of service on Monday, October 30. All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities.

  • Station Issue
    The elevators at Tufts Medical Center will be out of service through April 2018 due to construction.

    The elevators are being taken out of service to facilitate the replacement of the elevator cabs, hydraulic machines, and associated electrical work.
    Shuttle bus service will be provided between Tufts Medical Center (Washington St entrance) and Back Bay Stations. Customers in need of shuttle bus service are asked to see station personnel or utilize a station call box to request assistance.
    As an alternative, customers can also utilize Silver Line service between Chinatown Station and Temple Place.

    After crossing Causeway St, pedestrians will use a protected walkway along the east side of Legends Way, directly abutting Portal Park. The walkway will include a barrier and kick-plate for blind and low vision passengers.
    As an alternative, customers may consider utilizing the west exit from North Station Commuter Rail due to congestion.
