    Buses replace Red Line service between Park Street and Kendall/MIT Stations on weekends beginning Friday, September 29, through Sunday, December 17, due to the Longfellow Bridge Project.

    The bridge is scheduled to be open and Red Line train service will operate for the Head of the Charles weekend (October 21-22) and Thanksgiving weekend (November 25 - 26)
    Red Line train service will resume at the start of service on the following Monday. All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities.
    Customers should expect delays in service due to speed restrictions for a minimum of 48 hours after the weekend track work.

    Kendall/MIT
    Charles/MGH
    Park Street

    The Columbia Road entrance/exit at JFK/Umass Station will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, September 18, through Wednesday, November 1, due to construction.

    The Columbia Road entrance/exit at JFK/Umass Station will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, September 18, through Wednesday, November 1, due to structural repairs of the walkway between Columbia Rd and JFK/UMASS Station. During the closure, customers should plan on adding 5-10 minutes to their commute due to a longer path of travel to and from the station.
    Customers can enter the station via the adjacent stairway on Columbia Road down to the busway or the station entrance in the busway via Old Colony Ave.
    To exit the station, use the Ashmont platform exit to Columbia Rd or the busway. Customers can exit the Braintree platform by crossing over to the Braintree platform via stairs or elevator.

  • Station Issue (Ongoing)
    Beginning Monday, June 12, the pedestrian walkway near Kendall/MIT Station (inbound) will be closed due to MIT construction.

    Access to the Kendall/MIT Station will remain open and accessible on the Main Street side of the station throughout this construction.
    The pedestrian plaza between Carleton Street and Main Street in Kendall Square will be closed due to the construction of an underground garage.
    Customers are encouraged to utilize alternative paths to/from the station using the paths on Ames Street, Dock Street, or Wadsworth Street.

  • Station Issue (Ongoing)
    The pedestrian bridge at the Braintree Parking Garage will be closed through Summer 2020 due to construction.

    For access to Braintree Station during this closure, travel down to the first floor and use the pedestrian crosswalk to enter the station at the street level.
    This closure is due to the South Shore Parking Garages Improvements and Renovations Project. The pedestrian bridge will be replaced by a new garage lobby featuring elevators and stairwells.

    After crossing Causeway St, pedestrians will use a protected walkway along the east side of Legends Way, directly abutting Portal Park. The walkway will include a barrier and kick-plate for blind and low vision passengers.
    As an alternative, customers may consider utilizing the west exit from North Station Commuter Rail due to congestion.

    Due to necessary tree removal, shuttle buses will replace trains between Reservoir and Newton Highlands Stations from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26 and Wednesday, September 27.
    All stops are accessible for persons with disabilities.
