As part of the Fairmount Line pilot, riders will be able to use CharlieCards to pay at Fairmount Line Zone 1A stations.

All CharlieCards can be used at these stations, including those loaded with stored value, monthly and daily passes, and reduced fare passes. Riders can tap their CharlieCards at the platform validators to get a receipt to show on board.

Transfers

Fairmount Line riders who pay with a CharlieCard can transfer for free, within two hours of their first tap, to any of the following:

  • red line Red Line at South Station
  • silver line Silver Line
  • bus Local Bus

Riders transferring from buses to the Fairmount Line at any Zone 1A station will pay only the difference in fare when they tap a platform validator with their CharlieCard.
