Weekend Service Changes
When infrastructure repairs or upgrades require more than a few hours, we aren’t able to do them overnight, so work is scheduled over the weekend. On these weekends, buses will replace train service on the part of the line we’re working on.
Planned weekend work is listed below and will be updated if anything changes.
April 10 – 11, 2021
Shuttle Service During Coronavirus
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all riders are required to wear face coverings and should leave extra space between themselves and other riders. Shuttle capacity is limited to 20 people.
Green Line
As part of the Green Line B Branch Station Consolidation project, shuttles will replace trains between Kenmore and Washington St.

Green Line
Starting Friday at 8:45 PM
Shuttles will replace trains between Kenmore and Riverside to allow for work to continue on the Track & Signal Replacement project.

Green Line
Shuttle buses will replace train service between North Station and Lechmere until spring 2021 to allow for work on the Lechmere Viaduct and to construct the new Lechmere station.
Orange Line
Shuttle buses will run between Sullivan and Oak Grove to allow crews to replace the track crossovers between the Wellington Yard and Maintenance Facility and the main tracks.

Rockport Line
Shuttle buses will replace trains between Beverly and Rockport to allow for work on the Gloucester Drawbridge.

As part of our $8 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
