Step 2: Present Your Ticket or Pass to the Conductor

Commuter Rail fares are collected after you board the train. A conductor will come to check your mTicket app or CharlieTicket, or collect payment if you have not already purchased your fare. Fare prices depend on what zones you are traveling to and from, so make sure you purchase the correct fare for your trip before you board the train. If you are paying with cash on-board, make sure to tell the train conductor what your destination stop is.

Paying with the mTicket App

  1. Activate your ticket.
  2. Show your phone with the activated ticket to the conductor.
  3. The conductor will mark your seat with a slip of paper that indicates your destination.
