Pay Per Day

If you only need to park at an MBTA lot or garage a few days a month, you can pay for parking by the day.

Please note that if you don’t pay before midnight on the day you park, you’ll receive an invoice for unpaid parking, which includes the daily rate plus a $.50 surcharge for processing.

Pay stations

Each MBTA garage has payment kiosks where you can purchase 1-day parking passes, typically for up to 14 hours. We recommend prepaying for your parking in the morning to avoid lines during the afternoon rush hour. You can pay with:

  • Cash
  • Credit card
  • Debit card

Garage tap card

Prepay for a few days or weeks of garage parking with a tap card. Tap cards reduce lines at kiosks, and make entering and exiting faster.

To apply, just fill out a tap card application and bring it with you to the garage office or attendant where you like to park. Please note that tap cards only work at the garage where they’re purchased.

Pay for daily parking at lots

Some MBTA lots have attendants to collect parking fees at the gate. If the lot is attended, you can pay with:

  • Cash
  • Credit card
  • Debit card

You can also use PayByPhone to purchase any single-day or multi-day passes (5 or 14 consecutive days). If you park at a lot regularly, you may want to get a monthly parking pass.
